The Wall Street Journal reportedly spoke with “parts suppliers and software developers” in March 2019; they claim that an enhanced version of the Nintendo Switch is in the works and hardcore gamers will love it. We can look forward to a more advanced console in the future.
In July, there came even more evidence of a new Switch found in a letter to the FCC. This letter highlights changes to the original Nintendo Switch’s specifics; specifically mentioning upgrades to the SoC (System on Chip) and RAM.

The Nintendo Switch Lite was designed to be a more affordable, handheld-only alternative to the existing Nintendo Switch, but play all the same games. As a handheld-only alternative, though, there will be some games where that causes a problem (i.e., Super Mario Party playability will be significantly reduced due to the game emphasizing local and online multiplayer in docked mode)
While there is no release date as of yet, we do know the Nintendo Switch Lite will be available in the coming months. Pre-order yours here now!
